In 1965, Ruth Page presented Chicago with a beautiful holiday gift - ‘The Nutcracker’ Ballet, which would go on to become a beloved holiday classic for the entire family, performed annually at the McCormick Place Theater. Learn from some of the creative team about how the iconic production was transformed for presentation at NEIU, and watch a few of your favorite dance characters in a short performance.

Celebrating its 50th Anniversary Season, The Ruth Page Center for the Arts proudly continues its collaborative dance programming with Northeastern Illinois University through the Ruth Page Dance Series, presenting the finest local, national, and international dance artists to the NEIU community. Additionally, the Dance Series offers unique opportunities to engage with guest artists through demonstrations and master classes, as well as exciting behind-the-scenes experiences.
