A cosmic ride of laughter, inspiration and reflections on the life of a Broadway performer

with Kenny Ingram
Music and Lyrics by Peter Candela

Ruth Page School of Dance alum and Broadway veteran, Kenny Ingram presents SHANE BOY DARLING as a series of vignettes based on true stories with original music and lyrics. Performed as a concert reading, the play begins as a typical day in the life of a Broadway performer. Through music and laughter, Kenny reflects on his career, family history, and how he deals with his greatest challenge – being diagnosed with prostate cancer. This challenge creates a special bond between he and his artistic collaborator, Peter Candela, who is also diagnosed with prostate cancer at the same time, and ultimately inspires faith and gratitude.

Eight years after the diagnosis and surgery, Kenny Ingram’s SHANE BOY DARLING takes audiences on a musical cosmic ride of laughter, inspiration and one man’s enduring spirit to overcome adversity.

Proceeds from the performance to benefit the Young Men's Scholarship Program at the Ruth Page School of Dance.
