Community Engagement

Ruth Page Center focuses on facilitating communication, collaboration, and participation in programs and initiatives that promote community involvement and support the organization's mission and goals.

We have established relationships with Chicago Dance Health Fund, Chicago DanceMakers Forum, Newberry Library, and SeeChicago Dance. Ruth Page also regularly works with Asian Improv Arts Midwest, Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, Chicago Dance History Project, Chicago Repertory Ballet, Corella Productions, Gingarte Capoeira, Joel Hall Dancers & Center, along with various individual artists, dance historians, and arts organizations.

Fall Open House

August 2, 2026 | 10am to 2pm
Experience new dance classes at the Ruth Page School of Dance Fall Open House on Sunday, August 2!

Perfect for dancers ages 3–17, the Fall Open House gives young movers a fun, safe environment to try new styles, build social skills, and grow their confidence as they explore the incredible world of dance. Sample Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, and—new this fall—Jazz for Teens! Plus, attendees who register for the fall term will receive an exclusive discount on tuition.

Adults and dancers ages 17+ can also enjoy free classes during the Fall Open House! Get your heart pumping with Cuban Social Dance, Broadway Tap, Hip Hop, and more.

Founders' Day

Ruth Page Center's Founders' Day: a multi-day fundraising campaign to benefit Ruth Page's The Nutcracker. Founders Day relies upon gracious donations from our community, sponsors, and the time volunteers contribute to the organization. The success of this campaign allows us to present this time-honored tradition year after year.

Ruth Page's The Nutcracker

Ruth Page’s The Nutcracker is Chicago's longest-running Nutcracker tradition, delighting audiences since 1965. Be transported to a wondrous Land of Snow and Kingdom of Sweets this holiday season.  

This production promises exquisite dancing, stunning costumes, and a magical experience for the entire family. International and local guest artists perform alongside the talented dancers of the Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program and students from Ruth Page School of Dance.

Ruth Page Festival of Dance began with Ruth Page’s association with the Ravinia Festival in 1926. Today, the Festival continues her legacy and dedication to dance by allowing Ruth Page Center to present local, national, and international dance artists alongside the season finale of the Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program.

Fall Show

The Fall Show unveils the newest Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program members and presents an exciting lineup of newly commissioned work by a special guest choreographer. The evening-length performance also showcases select pieces from the Young Dancer Training Program and invited guests.

Center Stage at Ruth Page

Center Stage at Ruth Page is not just a fundraiser, it's an unique opportunity to celebrate the life and legacy of our founder and international dance icon, Ruth Page (1899 -1991).

This event, which also serves as her birthday party, is dedicated to raising funds for our In-Residence program! This production features our In-Residence companies and invites companies from the Chicago dance community.

We invite you to attend the Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program's 2027 Performance Showcase! The 2027 trainees will perform new works by guest choreographers, plus repertory works  by Ruth Page Center's very own Victor Alexander, Maray Guiterrez, and Emmanuel Ramirez.

The annual Performance Showcase is a celebration of  a year of world class dance training and artistic development for the 2026 PDTP dancers.

Spring Show

The Ruth Page School of Dance’s end-of-year concert and graduation ceremony is a culmination of months of dedication, hard work, and artistic growth for our dancers. At the concert, each dancer takes to the stage to demonstrate mastery of various dance techniques and styles they learned at our school. The audience witnesses the artistry and technical precision taught by our wonderfully skilled faculty.
