Weekly schedule: 4 ballet technique classes
Typical duration: 1–2 years
Prerequisite: Beginner III or equivalent dance experience
Intermediate I dancers build the strength, coordination, and focus needed for more advanced training. Dancers are expected to show increasing independence in classroom etiquette and personal responsibility, along with the focus, discipline, and preparation that a strong commitment to the art form requires. Taking classes in a variety of dance styles is strongly encouraged to help dancers become versatile, well-rounded artists.
See the RPSD Student Handbook for additional expectations and program policies.
